I’ve enjoyed copyediting work in academic, literary, and marketing settings. I provide a careful eye for correcting errors and adjusting unclear copy without sacrificing the writer’s voice. I primarily work with the Chicago Manual of Style, but am also comfortable following MLA, AP, and APA styles. Almost nothing fulfills me more than taking a creator’s work and elevating the content to the best it can be (and correcting serial comma usage).
I currently hold the position of Senior Editor at a nationally recognized inbound marketing company, editing short- and long-form content—including e-books, blog posts, conversion path copy, and social media copy—for clients in industries ranging from marketing to financial services to publishing. In this role, I also maintain our in-house style guide and supervise a great team of freelance copyeditors. My other editing experience includes academic articles in fields such as social work and higher education, informational fliers and program brochures, nonfiction pieces for literary magazine Ecotone, short stories for literary magazine Young Adult Review Network, English translations of Swedish essays, and several novel manuscripts.
I offer competitive rates starting at $30/hr depending on the nature of your project and the level of edit required. I’m happy to have a consultation with you before moving forward with an editing project—just drop me a note via my contact page.

“I want to give a shout out to the copyediting team, in particular Catey Miller. She is so timely with every request and able to tackle very technical copy across the board. Without her, our clients’ content wouldn’t shine!”
